Origami Yoda

The Strange Case of Origami Yoda
Darth Paper Strikes Back
The Secret of the Fortune Wookiee
by Tom Angleberger
September 2012

This is such a funny series.  It's a great book for upper elementary - middle school boys.  Girls will like it too.   These will appeal to the fans of the Wimpy Kid books as well.

Dwight is a weird kid. He does things like sit in holes in his back yard or answer "purple" when you ask him a question.  But Tommy, Kellen and some of the other kids at school accept him- that is...they don't really reject him. When Dwight comes to school with a little origami Yoda finger puppet everything changes. Suddenly, Dwight is someone you want around. Origami Yoda seems to have the Force. Ask him a question and you'll get a cryptic but helpful answer.  Dwight/Yoda end up saving the day for several of the kids at school.

The books are told by the kids themselves. In a "case file" format, each chapter is written by a kid in school. The chapters are illustrated by Kellen, with comments by Harvey (Darth Paper himself).

I hope Angleberger writes more of these. They're a lot of fun.
